Seat base problem

My driver's seat has developed an irritating habit of making sort of rubbing/popping noise when my weight shifts (eg cornering) and sometimes when changing gear. It feels like the foam is moving about a bit under my left arse cheek, but due to friction it's kind of sticking a bit and then moving with a sort of "pop"

I've had a rummage around underneath the seat and cant see anything obviously wrong with it. Nor am i particularly fat!

Any idea what the problem might be?

I used to have a simialr-ish issue since I had the car. There was never a problem changing gear, but when going around a corner the seat would 'let go' and shift a small amount sideways. No rub or pop though. My seats had been part-retrimmed, so I thought there could have been a bolt left loose, but the retrim was a very long time ago by the first owner.

However, when playing around with the electric seat, I put it to its lowest setting and I think there was a clunk. It hasn't moved since then, so there might have been some internal gear that was out and is now back in place.

I've got a similar noise from mine at the moment, difficult to describe but it usually happens when I pull away quickly from standstill. Was thinking of getting it looked at under warranty.
