Search function : Not working?

Hi Mods

I've tried using the advanced Search function and i'm getting 0 results consistently for searches i know should yield results.

Is there a problem with the search function currently?

BTW i am searching: "Badge Replacement"
Only option i change is to return Topics rather than Posts.

Ironically, just tested "Search by posts" and it returns loads of results (including this post!).

It's the returning of Threads that is broken.

I just had 155 responses and 11 pages of results for 'badge replacement' search (leaving all other search criteria as default - looks like setting return to 'topics' is your issue since this returns no search results)

Agreed, that's what i'm getting. Can anyone look into why the Topic function has broken?

It's so much easier searching through topics than individual posts.

if you search for 'Badge Replacement' and check the 'Topic tiles only' option then the search results will only bring back topics that contain the text: "Badge Replacement" in their heading. I assume you return zero results because there are no topics with that heading.

I understand - I was getting mixed up in my testing between returning 'Topics' and searching within 'Topic titles only' option.

Which thread are you expecting to be returned when you perform that search?

I don't know exactly - hence being able to return topic titles then assessing which may be helpful is far quicker than having to scan through hundreds of individual posts.

I want to know how to change the rear badge on the bootlid.

I don't know if there will be a How To or if it's been covered in Discussion or Problems etc..

I think that’s the problem, it is searching the titles for your wuery and there weren’t any. Test it with a few recent topic titles and I think (might be wrong) you’ll find it works

I'm not searching for it in titles though? I'm searching the body of the posts to Display results as topics.

Try searching literally ANYTHING and select the 'topics' return it will return zero results.

I'm getting the same problem '0' results even for topic headings that are in my list of recent posts.

I find it's easier to search google then it gives you pages from the fourm. Gave up using the search function on here, it's hopeless
