Sealant AND wax - overkill?

Just wanting to get a quick opinion - looking through here and DW I've seen differing opinions.

I've bought som FK1000p sealant for my titan silver z4. The plan would be the following:

Rinse
Wash with AG shampoo
Rinse/Dry
AG SRP
FK1000p

How many people would finish off with a coat or two of wax? I've been looking at either Dodo Juice Rainforest Rub or Victoria Concours Wax. I've seen some people say sealant is enough and others saying a coat of wax should be applied following the sealant. I really need to make my mind up and decide if I'm buying something or not before I go for the Dodo Juice Supernatural!

You are missing the claying and polishing steps?

If you are using a sealant, I would not use a filler wax first.

Well I already gave it a claying about a month ago to good effect. Still pretty smooth but will probably give it a quick going over with the clay bar again. Should I use another polish? I thought the AG super resin polish would be enough.

Also planning on using some bilberry wheel cleaner/chemical boys wheel sealant.

I use a polish after claying (Menzerna Final Polish II). Then I use a sealant (in my case Menzerna FMJ).

Do clay for piece of mind.
AG srp does have mild cleansing properties and the kaoline fillers will mask any faint swirling marginally so the paint will be polished after using srp.
fk1000p on its own should last out for 1 year with good wash practice but a 6 monthly clean/clay/cleanse and re-apply wont do any harm.
As for topping with a carnauba wax such as vics or rainforest rub, its a choice that either way wouldnt cause any issues.
Using a true carnauab wax you will give the car more of a warm glow afterwards which I feel defeats the object on silvers/light metalics as they should look like a shimmering piece of cold metal, this is where the sealant would come in.

Carnauab wax - warm glow
Sealants - pin sharp glass like finish.

Thanks Scott. I'd read similar before, but after seeing how Pawnsacrifice's and Gaza's cars looked after using wax I quite fancied trying it out myself! I had decided to go for VIctoria Concours wax, however cleanyourcar.co.uk are currently out of stock - doh!

IMO, there is no such thing as overkill, it all depends on how much depth, clarity and shine you are looking for; A finish that will surpass a new showroom car, or simply an above average shine?

After proper preparation, I personally finish the car with one coat of Blackfire gloss enhancing polish, followed by two coats of Blackfire Wet diamond finish and then, finish off with two monthly coats of P21S Concours carnauba wax. So many other brands out there applied at similar steps will outshine any new factory finish.

I use poorboys exp sealant followed by collinite 476 wax. I like the beading you get with wax and think maybe it's better protected but that maybe that I just don't understand the sealant.
