SE springs in a sport?

Is it true that the se springs give 15mm extra ride height over the sport springs and are they any plusher or is that down to the damping?

Seriously considering putting the se springs on my sport. The front bumper wont scrape the road every time I back on to my drive and the ride would be better round the bumpy roads of Bristol.

Any thoughts?
 
I would try removing run flats if you still have them to improve the ride.

As for scraping.. sadly part and parcel of owning these cars... yes SE springs will prob cause less scraping.. but will make it look less of a sports car -especially with 18's will have a huge arch gap.
 
What roads are you driving? I've lived in rural Scotland with Sports suspension and never scraped :o

I'm getting on fine with mine - there is one hump in the work car park that always catches the front on the way over but I don't think it is doing any harm

My roadster was an SE and I don't really notice too much difference between the two in ride harshness
 
Already have oversize normal tires (up by 5 on the profile both ends 35 to 40 and 40 to 45) and the ride is still horrendous around Bristol and any town in fact.

If I reverse onto my drive at just the right angle I can avoid scraping the front but its not always possible due to other parked cars ect.

Not too bothered about the arch gap as its smaller than it should be with the oversize tyres.

in which case you may be lucky enough to get a swap with someone on here who has SE's springs and wants sport ones :thumbsup:

Will going to taller springs with your sport suspension shocks/struts create insufficient shaft travel on rebound? It's established that going the other direction (lower springs on standard struts/shocks) produces accelerated wear and sometimes blowouts of the dampers.
