I bought my Audi TT earlier this year and had talked myself out of the 3.2 V6 for the higher running costs in all aspects.
On the day of purchase I test drove a 2.0 FWD TFSI (turbocharged) and was severely disappointed.
Infact to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. So much so that I noticed that parked right next to it on the dealer forecourt
was a 3.2. After a test drive a deal was done an I haven't looked back. Drove away thinking a turbocharged car is not for me.
The 3.2 costs a fortune in fuel averaging 25mpg and is in the high tax band but I love it. I thought I was done.
Then yesterdays test drive completely blew me away. The 2.0 turbo engine was fantastic!
The 2.0 litre engine was sweet, responsive, sounded nice and it bloody went. I mean it really went. I didn't feel much turbo lag and it was a joy to drive.
None of that I had even remotely felt when I test drove the 2.0 turbo TT. Another thing that I loved was the feeling of being "pushed" as opposed to "pulled" which I had never experienced since my TT is Quattro.
Now I would only get a turbocharged engine in the BMW without a shadow of a doubt -
