screen problem?

do i have a problem with the pop up screen,the reason i ask is that somtimes i've had a cd playing and turned the engine off,start the car up again its somtimes goes onto the computer setting!also the bmw logo hardly comes up on start up either :(
 
BMW logo will only come on when it's a "cold boot" - ie if you are sitting in the car, turn the ignition off and on, it won't do it.

the car will sleep on several conditions, after about 30 seconds from locking it for example.. meaning when you unlock it, the car wakes from sleep and the logo is there are you turn on the ignition and the screen pops up.

I'm not sure of the rules when it boots as to whether it displays the Radio side of the Nav/Comp side of things, but what you describe sounds normal to me. :thumbsup:

If you imagine two sides to the screen - radio usage and nav/computer usage, if you were using the computer last (instead of the nav) it will show that again next.

Mine usually boots to the map(nav) screen as I usually use that most. I wouldn't expect it to boot then sit on a CD screen.
 
thanks for that andy,when i turn the car on the computer shows on the screen even tho the cd is playing so when i press the mode button it shows cd then after a few seconds it returns back to the computer!as for the bmw logo it hardly shows on the screen at all.
 
I'm not sure there's a time limit to make it flick back - sure you're not using an Intravee as this does it for me too.

As for not showing the logo, perfectly normal. :thumbsup:

I guess maybe the mode button could be faulty, but sounds unlikely.

Hmmm .. thing is, if I had the Computer on screen, then put a CD in, or flicked forward a track, it would flick to the Audio side, then after about 3 seconds flick back.

Hard to tell without seeing, but I'd put money on the dealer saying it's normal.
 
hi andy,i dont have the computer screen on i have the screen showing what track but when i turn the car off and come back to it say 2 days later most of the time on start up when the screen pops up it goes straight to the computer screen :? but somtimes resumes where it had left of on the cd screen.
 
Yeah I think I understand, but I still don't think it's faulty.

Imagine having two distinct sections on the Screen:

1. Audio
2. Computer / Nav / Bluetooth / DSP

If you go to the Nav, then power off, turn on, I'd expect it to show you the name of the CD playing ( as there's a delay in firing up the CD), then after 3 seconds flick back to whatever you last used in Option 2 - Nav if it was last used.

Does exactly the same on mine - fires up the Ipod on my Intravee, then shows the Nav.
