Scratch Removal

Some of you may have seen my post the other week about my car being caught by some one. There was still a fair few scratches that I had not got out by hand so I decided to bite the bullet and try a rotary polisher I got as a present last Christmas. I have always been a bit scared of using it to be honest but as I plan to get both bumpers resprayed in the spring figured I had nothing to lose. Before and after pictures below still a few marks but pretty happy with the results for a first attempt at machine polishing it's given me a bit more confidence using the polisher as well. I used poor boys super swirl remover polish.

Oh and before someone says anything I know the valve cap is missing some scabby kids had those the other day ! Ordered a big bag of them off eBay !!

Well impressed, you must be well chuffed! I too bought a rotary polisher and have'nt had the inclination to use it. May bite the bullet and try it on the co car :D and if successful then on my p&j.

Thanks it certainly looks a lot better need to get brave enough to do the whole car would prefer a da polisher for that though. Sorry for the poor pictures seem to have lost some quality when uploading using tapatalk only just noticed.

Good first attempt, just remember to keep machine moving so as not to build up too much heat on lacquer.Plenty of polish and maybe spray some water on too.If you do attempt machine polishing your car you may want to cover your roof if its a roadster so you don't flick polish all over it.

Also be careful where you polish. I covered my block paved drive way in polishing compound when doing my son's white van you can still see where it was parked surrounded by a white ring of polish on the paviors. Not easy to get off

Tried mine for first time today not too happy with the result, took all day and still doesnt look that good.
