Hi Guys

We really want to explore the WILD Scotland in my Z4 Roadster in September. I am happy going to the wild places and high up in Scotland but I just wondered if anyone had done anything similar and if so any help/advice would be really helpful. We want to stay in Inns but they have to be quality places and dog friendly, also if anyone has a map of their route that would be great as I fancy the highlands and Skye ect :) We want desolate wilderness and great roads combined with nice pubs :) Also any route maps would be great :)

Thanks

Haven't got any specific advice but would definitely have a drive to Applecross as part of your trip - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=33634&hilit=applecross
Had a meal and a few pints in the Applecross hotel which was very nice and would be a good place to stay

Go North down the West Coast ....... :D

Place is awesome, only problem is the more North you go, the more you meet retired English Couples who have bought all the pubs :D

We went whale watching last weekend near Oban and can highly recommend it. It was a longish boat trip, but staying a while in the Corryvrecken was pretty special.

Whale and wildlife watching

We stayed here at a wee holiday village complex. Very nice accommodation with breath taking views.

We had an evening meal at the Cuilfail Hotel. Its a very local pub and people were bringing dogs in. The food was much better than we had expected, and the staff were lovely, one particularly cheeky.

Oban is a nice place to visit with a good choice of food outlets.

So, no route a such, but something and somewhere worth considering doing and staying. Enjoy the planning and enjoy the trip even more.

Staying in Aberfeldy this week. Dog friendly lodge, plenty of choice of good pubs, food and the drive over Ben Lawers and out to Glen Lyon was one of the best ever. Certainly on a par with the remotest West Coast and a lot more choices of roads.
