Wee Bing and I went to Scotland last weekend to watch the rugby at Murrayfield as you know - less said about that the better - and despite the fact we were there for less than 48 hours I did manage to take some pics. We left at about 2.30pm on Friday 3rd Feb and did 1027 miles in 3 days, including a brief visit to see Nosa and a short blast round some local roads with my brother. 29.9 mpg, average speed of 75mph (mostly motorway - no scenic route back because of weather
), and about 17 1/2 hours driving door to door and back again. A fantastic bonding experience, and I am now determined to get back up to Scotland for a meet sometime this year
It was great to be 'home' after more than a year, and with my (very dirty) new toy... Views from The Bay across the water to Edinburgh, with Arthurs Seat and the Castle in the distance :
Wee Bing on form and well wrapped-up before the match, and a shot of the stadium before it all went wrong...
Skipping forward a few hours because nothing much happened worth commenting on... The car at about 7am in the process of defrosting and modifying the windows back to 'clear' :
Sunrise...
Treading in the recent footsteps of Scottish Forumites before us, a short diversion to an icy South Queensferry
On the way down the M74, not the usual fantastic view, but a couple of mood shots taken by Wee Bing :
Email from Mrs Bing with a warning of what we were returning to...
3 or 4 hours in and it wasn't looking good, but all the snow pretty much disappeared shortly after, until we got back to Kent
The camera was in the boot after our last stop
so no pics of the beautiful snowy trip back down the M20, but Wee Bing got this (blurry) one on his iPod as we arrived in Maidstone :
Was a bit worried about actually making it home, but winter tyres and an amount of care got us back home safe and sound at about 5.30pm on the Sunday. Job done
