That looks superb - TBH there's nothing much I'd change there. Only thing would be that if you have the time, take a diversion after Skye and head over to Applecross and back, but that's probably an extra day.

Also, is that the best way to get from Hull to "up north"? I ask as we're getting a ferry from Hull in June and weren't sure on the best route down to take. The A66 was what I had in mind to get across country.

Tend to agree with all a11y says that is a great route .... the only thing i might change is how i got from the border back to your place .. i might be tempted to go cross country through the borders on the way back.

Aye, it does look very good in the photos. The road looks fantastic. Its the time that is limiting me. Edinburgh off the list for that reason too.

Not sure. Other than a few tweeks once in Scotland I left everything as per google quickest option. A66 I've done before and dont think I could make enough headway to get back to work on the Monday. Very nice drive though.

Havnt looked thru your route,but see (by comments),u are going to Skye,which is a great choice,as would be The Ayrshire coast(Largs to Grenock),and as posted,the Galloway forest route from Ayr.(tho i'm biased,being from ayrshire,lol)
U would also very much enjoy a tour of Perth/Arbroath areas. a very nice place to visit
