SBSR Fault - Airbag light, what do I test first

Folks, Have covered this before but with more info. now I thought I would call upon your experience. The C310+ tells me its the Satellite B-Pillar Right (with various additional options) so assume its the unit inside the pillar behind drivers seat. My question is what do I do first -
1) Previous thread suggest testing for loose plug connections (especially under passenger seat), are there any other loose plug possibilities I
should be looking for ??
2) What is the unit in the B-Pillar, is it the crash sensor and can this be tested out of the car before I blindly replace it ??
3) Is there any connection with the seat belt restraint system that could trigger this fault ??
I have cleared the fault once but it returned after a few miles of driving, so suspect something like an intermittent connection (dodgy plugs)

First thing I would do is check the B-Pillar unit for corrosion. These units get wet often due to their mounting location.

Thanks for the suggestion, part of the C310+ description mentioned short circuit in the thorax airbag rear right for the E85, E60 could this be the cause, do you know what I should be looking for ie corrosion causing a bad connection ??

Normally corrosion will be either a green or sometimes white powdery substance on the pins. I would start at the B-pillar unit then if that doesn't do it pull the door card and check the side airbag connector.

Many thanks for the suggestion. I have managed to reset the fault with my +c310 scan tool and so far after about 70 miles of driving the fault has not re-appeared (yet), I am hoping if it does re-appear that it is a mechanical problem with bad plug connections possibly through corrosion and not internal electronic failure with the B-Pillar sensor.
