not sure where this should go how ever now im here i will carry on
i have got a 2003 z4 3.0i with a built in sat nav the small one under the air vents . what i would like to do is retro fit the biger sat nav that sits on top of the air vent , As any body on here done it? if not can it be done any help with this would be great

Sounds like you have the business navigation and are looking at getting the professional navigation. Retrofits have been done, http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=6067

However, some bits are difficult to locate at sensible prices, especially the nav compatible stereo.

Given the work involved, unless you really really want the BMW installation (which frankly isn't the best), I'd suggest quite simply looking at a portable device you can use. Typically these come with better features, cheaper map updates, speed camera information, better portability and so on.
