Sat Nav Speed Camera Warning

Hello all!
A quick query regarding the inbuilt professional sat nav in my 56 plate coupe. Until recently I used to get an audible warning when approaching a fixed camera and this has now stopped. Any ideas how to reinstate this feature?

I would go back to the dealer and ask for an OEM disk. That is worth a lot more then a copy and never locks up.

Def. an illegal copy that's had a database of cameras added into it.
Not something you can really take up with the dealer.

Software = firmware
Maps <> Software, and they would never change that at the dealers.

First owner put in a copied DVD, probably sold the original one on ebay. Dealer never checked and the car slipped through the checks.

Similar issue as the fake CSL scenario I think, I would make a fuss with the dealer to get the real disk, not a copy.

The 2010 update has speed cams - so it could be genuine. What does it say on the DVD?

Hmmmm I thought I had read the 2010 update supported post-code search and speed cameras. Must have been an illegal copy as can't find any genuine ones that mention speed cams.

My mistake

You might have sdeen some of the newer systems supporting that, as they're hard disk based and can be updated much more easily. However our Z4s use something from the Hadean age!

There is a whole lot of info with regards to getting this info on the disk. However, the assumption is that you HAVE to own the OEM disk as a base before you copy it for your own use.

Hmmm. So, the disk says: "DVD 06-2, Road Map Europe HIGH"; on the back it says NAVTEQ in holographic writing around the hole in the middle. Last time it came back from it's service (at the main dealer) the system had been updated to include a new camera locally. Any more ideas?

I'm totally bemused as the Z4 OEM disks nor system has any speed camera functionality at all. Dealers certainly don't update speed cameras.

I can only remain of the opinion it's a modified disk and even if it's somehow burnt onto an original.

You sure you don't have a dealer provided Road Angel or so? There is no way that the OEM system supports alerts as CJ mentioned.

Out of interest what is the audable warning you get?" Beep Beep Speed camera ahead" by any chance?

No audible warning, just an icon of the POI (Place Of Interest) when that's near enough. It's also just a 'proximity warning', it doesn't check if the POI is actually *on* the road you're on, just if it's nearby.
