Sat nav screen.....

I seem to have a problem with my sat nav screen going blank. Wondering if anyone else has had the same? Comes on sometimes but then some lines come across it and goes blank. Did a 1200 mile trip in the car in Sep and it was fine the whole time but can't get it on now. Are they amazingly expensive to replace?
 
There's a similar post on going at the moment, try a battery disconnect for 20plus min might work, but you have to reset clock an windows, if not, I might still have a spare Lcd panel, that involves stripping the unit apart
 
Whilst on this subject...

Does anyone know if perhaps instead of that horrid screen, if we could get a proper screen in its place?

A few if us have gutted the unit an replace with android tablet
 
Ah v cool as only dated part of interior

Ouch that's quite a bit of fannying about!
I fitted my own media bridge as that apart from pulling the bloody hood release button
Was a breeze todo so can use anything in to stereo
I just hate the screen
