Sat Nav screen fault...

As pvr said ours is a spare unit because the stepper motors tend to fail, as yet we have had no problems.

Are these motors easy to replace/cost mines a little sticky sometimes :?

I've tried sourcing the motor, but so far the only solution is to replace the entire screen.

mejeric, to remove the centre vents is quiet easy.

You need to put a little masking tape around the gap between the vent and the dash. This is to stop damaging the dash pannel.

Then get a sturdy flat headed screw driver, and with a bit of patience; thread the screwdriver alomng the vents carefully prizing around the edges, eventually it will come out, dont be too scared the vent is fairly robust.

I have now located the screens main cable. There is a plastic cover under the radio, about 10" long, you unclip this and the loom/cable is accessible there.

I will eventually do a digrammed write-up on this once I have retified my issue.
