Sat Nav Drive Removal Tool

Hello All,

Do you know where I can buy a sat nav dvd drive removal tool?

I tried buying the BMW 83300493099 from ECS Tuning but they are out of stock.

I can buy and ship from the USA through my freight forwarder. I did try and buy a generic one on amazon but it is too wide and thick.

Two/four unused rivets (whatever size fits) and gently push the tops towards the outside of the unit, keep the pressure on and it will gently slide out

I bought some 1/8inch rivets which fit in the holes nicely but no luck I wonder if they are too short

How long do you need to put the ends in?

A couple of small screwdrivers will also do the job, better leverage as well.

They may need to go in further than the rivets. As srhutch says a couple of small screwdrivers will do. You’ll feel a slight resistance when you push them sideways and that’s the tabs being pushed back against the unit releasing the locking mechanism allowing it to slide out

Edit: whatever you use needs to be long enough to push the tabs marked by the arrows back in far enough to release from the black cage

Glad you got sorted
