Samsung S2 bluetooth woes

Hi all

Trying to get my Samsung Galaxy S2 to work with OEM bluetooth.

It's March 04 registered, so quite an old unit.

I can get it to pair with the phone, but cannot get it to upload the contacts. I have tried to delete it (along with any other paired phones) and start again, but I can't seem to manage that despite following the destructions...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I've got a Galaxy S (the original one) that i've installed Android 4.0.4, so the software is the latest update and it connects fine. I just followed the procedure described in the manual and the contacts were transferred on the car. Perhaps there's a setting on the phone which keeps the phonebook from transferring?

The only thing that doesn't work on mine and really pisses me off is the quick dial button on the steering wheel (the one on the right). When you press that you can scroll through an alphabetic ordered list of all your contacts using the Up and Down buttons. Well with my phone the contacts on the sat-nav screen are not in alphabetic order! They're in some random order which makes no sense at all! So now that's useless! :headbang:

Thanks - I'm on the latest Gingerbread, so I'm not sure what it can be.

I've searched on the net for other issues, but not had any joy.

Hey ho.

Sorry i cant be of more help. For the record my contacts transferred fine even before i flashed the latest ROM. And the problem with the quick dial button was always there with my Galaxy S... my previous phone, a Windows Mobile 6.5 device did not have that problem...

My S2 worked perfectly before I updated to ice cream sandwich . Now it won't transfer my contacts .... Bugger :x

I've yet to get my car to even begin searching for my S2, let alone connecting to it. :(

My S2 works perfectly with my latest gen BMW bluetooth system (13th gen ULF installed by me last year) so I too am guessing it's just an old ULF thing.

dan425, are you unable to get the bluetooth into pairing mode or is this an S2 thing too?

Update:

It pairs ok, it's just the phone book that doesn't work.

However, it receives calls perfectly well, whcih I found out on the way to work this morning when my boss called me to shout at me about something i'd not done!!

Tbh, I would rather it receive than vice versa, if I had to choose...

My exact experience! Not tried since I upgraded the phone to 'Ice Cream Sandwich'.

I only found it usable when the tent was up or at low speed, so pretty much no use for me. I've given up and stick with my Bluetooth headset which works fine up to motorway speeds tent down.

Oh, and passers by at traffic lights can't hear your conversation either!
