Samsung Galaxy S II V Sat nav

So I'm looking into upgrading my phone when I get back to the UK in June and also buying a sat nav. Alternatively I could go for the above phone and not bother with a sat nav - anyone gone this way and glad they did or regretted it?

I've got a Galaxy SII, had it for a year now. Fantastic phone. I've used the Sat Nav (free as part of Google Maps) a few times and its good. Love the fact you can have the map using the Satelite view so see buildings as they are 8) The voice is very annoying though :|

I love my TomTom and don't like change so I wouldn't replace it with my phones, however it woudln't surprise me that if I gave the phone a chance, stored my addresses in it, see if it can do traffic re-routing etc that it may well be a viable alternative  If my TomTom dies I'll give the phone a go for a bit

I've got the galaxy. I've used it as a sat nav to see how it does and it performed really well.

It's brilliant as a phone as well! I'd def recommend it.

It's not a tiny phone but you couldn't benefit from the features its got if it had a small screen.

I'd say, just looking at it, it's about 2.5 inches X 5. It's really lightweight. It would easily fit in a mans inside pocket.

Screen and colours are fantastic, my colleague has one. Thin as you like and a nice palm size for holding.

Lightweight as above.

Certainly an improvement on my Motorola Milestone in those respects but I like the fact mine came with no bloatware..

It is a big phone, worried me at first. But its the girth thats important  No seriously, the fact it is so thin means it comfortably fits in most pockets, jeans, trousers, suit jacket etc.

I've heard lots of good things about it and if the sat nav works as well as people have said then I might as well go for the more expensive phone and ditch the sat nav idea completely - thanks for your help everyone.
