S677 HiFi system Professional DSP

Hi,

The sound system in my Z4 actually surprised me for the quality and volume level. I had heard others say the system quality is trash but I think it is head-and-shoulders above a lot of factory systems, and, while I was planning an upgrade, I think I will stick with it for a while.
I will look to add streaming capabilities and the BlueBus solution looks to be one of the best around. I have the CD Changer prep but sadly no phone prep, so there will be a little work (for someone) to get that cabling installed.

One annoyance with my system I have though is the DSP setting. It doesn't seem to matter what I do in the menu settings, I cannot get rid of a reverb effect which is most noticeable on speech. There is an "on / off" option in the DSP settings but it doesn't appear to make any difference.
Does anyone know how to disable the echo/reverb effects?

Look at the CarPlay option from carphonics and your microphone option will be taken care off as well.

You can see my build thread on that with the oem microphone installation.

i've the same issue. car came with nokia hands free installed aftermarket, I have the s677 and cd stacker option. Reverb is killing it for me. Will be ripping the hands free off and using CD stacker connections for BT streaming, sans the hands free...hope that works

I haven't found a way to make any changes in the DSP settings yet, all greyed out. Must find a manual

I had looked at this with interest, and even emailed Baris for some information regarding it.
My main concern is the way it connect to the headset, i'm really not keen if the AUX method is the only way.

No, the alternative is to use the CD changer connection instead. That is what I am doing in the M

I had that problem with my car when I got it, but messing around with the setting in the graphic equaliser in the SatNav has pretty much solved it.

No idea what you can if you don't have Nav though.

Going to resurrect this as my BlueBus arrives today;

I'm still no further forward with managing to disable DSP effects.
The problems I am having is that a lot of the adjustments that I can make do not appear to make any difference to what I am hearing. :headbang:

• The EQ settings for example; I can minimize all bars or max out all bars and the sound is not affected.

• There is an "on/off" option, I press this and it doesn't seem to turn anything on or off.

• The "Demo" mode, which is meant to cycle through the DSP options, does not do any of that.

• The "Room/Echo" option; while I can access it, min/maxing each of these does nothing.

I'm at a loss as to why all of these options have no impact on sound.
Perhaps there is a setting that I don't know of that disables all of this? Maybe there is a way to reset back to factory settings? Worst case, could I have a faulty headunit?
