s54 engine in Z4 Coupe?

ChrisC85, if you put the V10 in your coupe i will make you honorary member of the exclusive coupe club :) :) :)

Can surely be done but to do it right, clean... the labor + parts would outweight the cost selling your coupe and just upgrading to a M coupe. I've looked into it as well but decided ultimately if / when the n52 goes, V10 is where I'm going =)

which would have most bollocks? the M or the supercharged 3.0ltr

Supercharged 3.0 I would have thought ? But that would be eaten by beedub's supercharged ///M.

Seen that M5 engined ///M before... Looks mental, but I wonder how drivable it is ? Surely that V10 is way heavier than the S54, and getting the power down before your tyres melt would require a lot of upgrades to the rest of the car too, right ?

Hmmm, but the weighting layout wouldn't be that much different than one of those Weismann's would it?

Interesting though, I think the theoretical unrestricted speed of the V10 M5 is 200mph, so if the engine swap includes gearbox aswell then that would make an interesting vMax attempt in the Zed :driving:

Reminds me of the old saying.

If you want a fast car, start with a fast car. :D

Much simpler to start with a M, than a 3.0i

if you have a couep the supercharger way is blocked annyway, the N52 can't be charged, it is more fragile at that point at it's valvetronic stuf also makes it verry dificult.

so an engine swap ( then take a V8 of V10), or selling the car are the only 2 options left.

I think a 90 M3's V8 would be much more in character and since the engine is not especially torquey perhaps easy to fit ion the the Z4M without too many other mods; I belive that V8 is lighter than the _6 too.
