Rusty discs

Look, I know nothing about cars. So silly question ahoy.

When it rains or I clean my car then the brake discs go rusty really fast. Within minutes.
Quite a bright orange.

My cars have not done this before.

It is a low milage car that wasn't used every day before me. Is this light use anything to do with it?

cast iron brake disc's will show surface rust. This is normal. A disc that does not show rust does so due to the mixtures of metal that the disc was made from.

Happens to everyone. Take it for a short spin round the block a couple of short braking distances will remove it, if it bothers you.
 
You're advised to take a car for a spin after washing it anyway as the brakes can lock-on due to the surface corrosion between pads and disks
 
The parking brake is separate from the "regular" ones so don't worry about them "locking" on. I've never had that happen with my coupe.

Taking the car for a spin, however, is always a good idea! :driving:
