I was a bit surprised to see this on a MOT. Bathing in seawater or just a series of unfortunate circumstances.

I would guess it has spent a good few winters, outside, very near the sea (anywhere TBH) and obviously not very well loved.

Never seen an advisory for a previously repaired wheel, though. If it has been repaired adequately then it is deemed to be safe and roadworthy. If not then it's a fail, surely?

Before 'online MOT' data was available, you would never have known about any of it. Best thing the UK Gov have ever done IMO.

Depending on the MOT tw*ts that provide the data.

My 330i passed last month but got advisories for "engine cover fitted", "undertray fitted" and "oil leak, but not excessive".

The first 2 are just F***ing stupid - it should have got advisories if the OE parts weren't fitted! :headbang:

Where do they recruit these cretins?

Anyway sorry to hear about those issues on your E89 OP. :(

Yes, experience is a great asset, facts will back up your findings. https://www.aberdeenlive.news/news/aberdeen-named-most-corrosive-place-6737176

I had a lucky escape then, I was after one somewhere in Scotland when I was looking for mine 2 years ago. Sterling grey with red sport seats lowish miles from a dealer. Although very tempted, meant a long road trip or flight.

I had an E46 a while ago that was first registered in Aberdeen, and most components on the underside were pretty rusty. :(
