Been informed this morning that the running service is no longer covered by BMW.

My car is at the dealers now,(not where i bought it)the bill is likely to be around £300!!

Luckily the supplying dealer has agreed to cover it since i was told it would be free when i was buying.Thank you to them.
Must say i wouldn't be very happy to part with £300 after only six weeks or so in a new car.

I was going to mention this yesterday when I saw your post about mileage, then I forgot. I read this a few weeks back, people buying pre-reg M3s being charged, don't think anyone has actually stumped up yet, the supplying dealer is usually putting up with it as a goodwill gesture.

Thing is, there have in the past been quite a few ///M cars that have missed the 1200 service, and that is when it was free. Are we going to see a spate of owners missing it because they don't want to shell out?

i said to the service manager today that more cars will probably miss the deadline of 1200miles now.

he showed me the memo from BMW regarding the change.
i suppose the salesman i dealt with could have denied the conversation we had about it a when i was buying but luckily he/the dealers came through.

apparently the running in service on a M5 will be about £1000 !!

Why dont they just integrate it into the price of the car, nobody would be none the wiser then.

x2, we pay for it either way really but just seems silly not to build it in which is what they used to do.
