Running / Bedding in period.

Run the M135i in by the book, its not just the engine and BMW can quite easily tell if the car has been thraped during the run in period and could quite possibly deny a warranty claim if the cars been overly abused.

Are you saying there is some sort of data logging ?

The cars running parameters will be logged on the ecu so I would imagine it would be easy to tell if the engine has been running at consistent high revs during a running in period. Whether BMW could refuse a warranty claim I'm unsure but I'm sure I came across something similar on one of forums where at first BMW refused to replace an engine under warranty due to excessive abuse but relented in the end. Bit of a grey area.

Mulhouse gets top marks from me ! We went a couple of years ago and will probably go again this year. I didn't know about the car hire but after your comments probably won't bother either!
Re the Morgan - it's one of those cars that looks loads better than it drives. It was the sort of drive that any lapse in concentration would have you in the ditch. It seemed like a fight beginning to end - the car I tried had only 30k on the clock.

There was a plus 8 down in the dordogne a few weeks ago , even if he lives on the south coast of England it's still a 9 hour drive to get there , in a Morgan that's showing commitment :D
The hire cars are worth a look , the corvette was only 45 euros and the porsche 55 euros for 7 laps , there was also a mondial , urraco , Healey and a few others , we viewed it as we will probably never be in a position to drive them again so let's chuck a few euros in and have a laugh . We just forgot how bad old cars are to drive as they were quite good examples , the 356 was mint and the only similar one we found for sale was 140k :o
