RUN OFF THE ROAD

If you have made an allegation to a Police Officer that someone has been driving dangerously or similar he must be duty bound to take some action. I think he is fobbing you off and would consider a communication with a senior officer at his station and ask the question.
When would the officer have put pen to paper? If you were seriously injured? If you were killed? If you had been forced into another vehicle and caused an injury or death?
I can feel a complaint coming on.

I agree with this... Alas, I have no faith in the police and equally no faith in the armed forces to do anything unless forced too.
 
So ridiculous saying he can't do anything because he didn't see it. If a house got broken into, very rarely are there any witnesses never mind an officer, it's still a crime and should be investigated as such, very disapointing
 
Sorry to hear, the accident would have me fuming but the reaction of the other people involved would send me skywards. Definitely go with the suggestions to contact the base and local police station with a formal complaint. Really irritates me that the general attitude in this country seems to be that if you have something nice you get treat like crap.

Thanks people for all the kind comments , pms and good advice the lunatic has admitted liability and the accident management co recommended by the bmw shop have been first class i get a 330dm sport to drive till my beastie is all mended , still cant help running it through my head again and again though :cry:

Good to hear is progressing.

Are you going to complain about the police officer? I would. Have you got his badge number. :poke:

Sense slight siding with the Forces scenario (though would have been the opposite of what I would have expected). Don't stand for it btw.
 
gutted for you mate, i'm having flashbacks from when i had some dickhead deliberately make multiple attempts to run me off the road on my zx-10. scary stuff, i hope you get everything sorted, and you're back on the road soon. :thumbsup:
 
bmw say the repair bill is £7900 ! now im worried after reading the post whats a Z4MC worth ? will they write it off ? and ? will it ever be the same as before ? im thinking of complaining to the police i know a policewoman on the soca in the met she says he "cuffed " it their term for fobbing people off !

I think write it off, as this repair bill will only increase once they start taking the car apart, plus I assume they're paying for a courtesy car in the meantime.

I think I'd actually prefer a cash settlement to enable me to go out an buy another, rather than always worry about pushing on in a repaired vehicle.

BTW, is this a BMW bodyshop repair cost, or their 'approved' bodyshop? You have the right to choose where you take it, although it may just make their decision to write it off much easier.
 
Unless you know someone in the business who can fix for you... might be easiest to write off :(

If it was an MOD vehicle he should have completed an FMT3 and given you the tear off slip that has details of who to contact. It's not usually the unit but the MOD central claims place. If he didn't do this then contact the MT section and speak to the senior guy, probably a WO, and ask if he reported the accident. If he didn't report it then speak to the Provost guys and report it to them. They will investigate it. Military police don't side with the military and love to get one of their own.
 
Bigger speed differential needed in future -- don't give the idiots time to pull out on you. I try to pull 8,000 rpm in every overtaking maneouvre :D
 
Sorry to hear your news, i crunched some metal on sunday (my fault) & it's been eating at me ever since, hate it.

I think anyone who has driven an M knows that feeling of sitting behind someone waiting to see if they overtake.. knowing the split second you drop a cog will be the moment he decides to pull out without looking...

Hope it isn't written off, I'd be soo gutted to lose my actual car, even if I got a newer shinier one to replace it :(
 
Sorry to hear about this.

I've had a car repaired from moderate damage before, never felt the same after... Alignment or chassis or sumthing always bugged me. (was going around a roundabout and some woman with 3 kids and no insurance or job pulls straight out in front of me) :( :roll:

I would be pushing hard for a replacement if possible. Otherwise hope it goes to a really good body shop.

Seconded - even if he doesn't report the comment as a police officer, is is still a witness to the event of him saying that.
