RPI Air Scoop Intake

Has anyone fitted this product and if so how difficult is it to install?

Yes, I have it. Took me 5 minutes to fit it.

I did get that far (pics above) but am struggling finding the slots for the new screws, do i drill new ones or should i just be looking harder?

Does it run noticeably better now?

No drilling required, it goes into the plastic and is self taping. The two screwdrivers shown in the pictures are the type you need as one is needed for a very tight screw with little space, and the long one for the back.

With those, it really is that simple.

Flimper - I get some better MPG then before and it feels slightly better. Think the dyno figures from RPI says it all really.

flimper - according to rpi it does give more power. I have a gruppe m filter and i read somewhere that the two combined give improved power and more importantly SOUND....

I was going to buy one of these, but Roman said it made no difference to his car and someone else said he's tested it by running the car between markers on the road before and after install and it made no difference what so ever to the cars speed

RPI could alter the BHP figures on the rolling road via turning a dail on the machine at the time, it's been do before

What do you think?

I changed the filter to the BMC filter at the same time, so I can not 100% state what caused what effect exactly ...

I managed to make one from fiberglass myself, first i used in combination with a conical KN filter. I got rid of it and now i run it with a stock airbox. Yes, in my oppinion it does make a difference, only in speeds above 100kmh though, when a slap the gas at 130 im on 180 in a matter of seconds. Really happy with it, go for it!

I fitted the filter and scoop over the weekend... I think the scoop could be better made in some specially formed plastic instead of making holes in OEM covers, but hey... Only difference I really notice is that the car is a tad noisier in idling and acceleration.

Not there yet. Have since installation only fueled up once. I'll notice later today .

I'd be willing to do an appraisal of one in various gears from idle > limiter with and without.

If you look at the dyno results, there are benefits. In practical terms, I have seen an improvement in fuel consumption figures and a slightly increased air noise.

Very difficult to measure before and after to be honest as the car was a beast before, and is one after as well

I'd do your own independent before/after tests.

Never trust anything from the producer of a product. I some special magnets here to put on your fuel lines, and you get 50% more mpg.

Here are the results:

Before: 30mpg
After: 45mpg

Hehe, I'm being obtuse, but the proof is ALWAYS in the pudding... and there is no better independent test than one independent of the manufacturer in every way.

How much are they? I'll happily test one out and return it if it's no good!
