Royal Steering wheels

Yeah that was after a lot of cleaning. Not even Dr leather wipes could do anything for it.

I went down to Royal Steering wheels one Sunday morning and he fitted it there and then. Took about 30 minutes in total to fit. Really glad I did. The old wheel let the whole car down IMO so really happy with the result.

How much the was it (parts & labour)?

I had mine done a few months back but forgot to post pictures. Massive change from the worn original. I went for added padding, smooth and perforated with red stitching to match the seats. Well worth the money (which is a bargain in my eyes).

Oh wow!! Those pics have just made up my mind! Perforated it is then! I wonder what a beige stitch would look like to match my seats?

For anybody considering a retrim, as an alternative to Royals I decided to try out these http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ihr-Leder-Lenkrad-Meister?_trksid=p2047675.l2568 from Germany.

They do an exchange service in the event that you don't want to lose the use of your car, which is the option I chose. They send you a retrimmed version of your exact steering wheel, once you receive it you send your old one back to them. They take a deposit which is returned to you upon receipt of your old wheel.

Mine is a retrimmed M-Sport wheel for the E85. They didn't have it as an option on the website so I emailed them and they duly obliged. I thought I'd leave this here because I'm very pleased with the results, nice and chunky, more pronounced thumb wrests, comfortable and well made. They do a 'Tuning' option which applies a similar theme to the bottom half too, although unfortunately they couldn't offer it for my M-Sport wheel. It's just something a bit different to what Royals offer, and another option for anybody who might be interested.

It was £135 for the wheel and £15 fitting. Bargain I’m sure you would agree.

I had mine re-trimmed by Royal Steering wheels a couple of weeks ago.

I spotted an M2 at the dealer and decided I wanted the same wheel in my Z4 so had them do the smooth leather on top and bottom, perforated on sides and had the tri-colour stitching. Also went for the extra padding option so it's the same thickness as the M wheels.

They did a great job, I'm tempted to do the same to my 3 series too.

How much did that all cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Mine cost £145 since I removed the wheel and sent it to them. I only use my Z4 on the weekend so it wasn't an issue.
you can always use a pair of mole grips clamped on the steering shaft while your wheels away :headbang:

Jack at Royal Steering is a magician. The product is top notch and every BM I've had has had a new wheel from him. Price is great value too. It is sfter sll the main connection between man znd machine

Zed needs one ... trouble is im struggling on what to do design wise... my car is sapphire black with red leather ...

Heres my laat car. Jack did gaitors and wheel in matching oyster nappa leather
