Routing cable from head unit to rear storage box

My Christmas project has been installing AUX and powered USB sockets following the advice from various useful guides in the How-To section. They work fine, and I've been using a 3.5mm/USB docking cable to connect my ipod.

However, after living with it for a few days, I've decided I'd like to route the cable back to the lockable rear storage box, hidden as much as possible under the trim and/or in the central tunnel. As I only use my ipod on shuffle, I can then keep it safely tucked away in the rear box and don't need to worry about nasty thieving types doing their nasty thieving thing.

I've spent quite a while reading through various threads from a while back, and it sounds like a couple of people have successfully achieved this. However, I'm not clear from the brief descriptions exactly how it's been done. Do I need to remove the central trim in front of the storage box, and is there a recommended way to route the cable up into the storage box lid, which is currently empty?

Any advice/photos would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks, and happy new year to all!

You need to remove central trim in front of storage box but not over central tunnel, you can remove the odd screw and just tuck cable away.

Thanks! Once I have the trim off, is there a handy way to route the cable up into the storage box or do I need to drill some holes?
