Rough pick up from idle

Is this normal for an s54? Its a bit better when the engine is cold (rich?)
Not a big issue, but sometimes there is a second hesitation when I press the throttle which makes getting away at a traffic light a bit jerky.
Its only from idle, at higher rpm its fine and very responsive.
Curious what your experiences are.

Cheers,
René

It seems to be a fairly common problem, do a search for "hesitation".

Replacing both of the throttle sensors helped reduce this but I still get it occasionally and it does vary according to the fuel I feed it. Before replacing those sensors and decoking the intake butterflies and idle valve with generous use of carb cleaner helped quite a bit, before it would sometimes be close to stalling. Some fuels are less prone to the S54 'cough' too.

Thanks guys
I've just been reading all pages of bertmans thread (poll), guess I'm changing potmeters soon :)
The hestitation in combination with the CDV made me almost hate the car when I just got it.
Removing the CDV helped a lot, changing the TPS(es) might bring a very big smile on my face.
Again thanks for the swift replies!

Wasn't there a thread about resetting the pots?? Would this help...? I'll try and find it...

Edit, found it: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=195&p=340346&hilit=throttle+reset#p2221
