S synthedup Senior member Rotherham Nov 17, 2018 #1 Hi guys, My 2006, 2.0 has developed a rough idle. I understand reading some posts that the vvt motor could be to blame. I have no warning light. If it does turn out to be the motor, do they need coding? Or just a simple plug and play? Thanks

A andyf1140 Member Nov 18, 2018 #2 When was the ccv last done? Mine had rough idle and just got the ccv replaced to fix oil leaks and the idle is a lot better. I was advised to go with a genuine BMW part as the eBay specials don't always fit without a bit of adjustment!
