Roof useage

It had over £3000 spent on the roof 18 months ago….

Well, that's a lot. Hopefully somebody with roof knowledge got it.

I discounted the SLK because of the unreliability of the roof, so bought a folding metal roof Z4 instead.

Of course, modern roofs (both metal and fabric!) are significantly more complex and reliable than those of the past! Therefore, we only need to worry about them when they get 10 to 15 years old, and not earlier.

Unfortunately all E89s and E85s are now 10 years and older. So everybody should worry??

Yes, of course!
Even tires should be cared about after 10 years.

That's the reason I placed the recommendations years before.

TBH, doesn't matter.

I've already seen 5 year old Z4's with issues. But that's statistics.
