Roof storage comparment question

very common question probably but if the base of the roof compartment was folded up, would the electric roof mechanism still work or would the car simply not allow you to do it?

Only asking as the manual doesn't state that the mechanism won't work, just that if could cause damage if you left the base up and tried to open the roof.

If your talking about the shelf in the trunk..... if it is the up position, the roof will not open. There is a micro-switch that is engaged when the shelf is in the "down" position.

+1 on micro switch. You'll get an orange warning light, and the roof will not go down.

ah cheers, that's what I wanted to know. Glad the roof won't move when the shelf is in that position.

I didn't know there was a shelf that could be moved. How do you do this?

In the boot there are two black handles.
Turn them both 90 or 180 degrees and it lowers or raises the "parcel shelf".

roof won't lower if the shelf is in the upper position. Upper position is useful if you have larger item in the boot - but obviously the roof won't lower.
