roof replacement

Hi Huys...
When I have bought z4, it has a slight damage on the roof - slight means, that some idiot damage it with a knife.
Luckylly he did not went thru whole roof, and he demage like 10 cm, on the roof, and the demage onlty the top part (he did not make the hole thry whole wide of the roof)
The thing is, even I do like to ride with roof down, and that guy did some quick repair with some kind of sticker, I like to replace it with black one, or = I dont know what that collour is

PS: I do not have those ugly rims any more )))

The thing is, that I think that the new roof cost something like 1300,- eur, here is SVK from dealer.. and it is a lot.. I was trying to find somebody that can do the roof by himself, but they sad to me that the cost is about 1000eur,, so only extra 300 and i do have a original roof..

any advice,m where I can find cheaper but good quality option.??

Im not sure how easy they are to find for you but an automotive upholsterer (someone who retrims seats and interiors) should be able to do a pretty good and permanent repair. It may not be completely invisible but it will be better than 1300 euros!

There is a thread on here somewhere by someone who has had it done in the UK.

Do you have any car custom shops or similar in your area?

In fact it probably doesn't need to be specifically car-related: it is just a sewing job after all so a good furniture restorer/trimmer should be able to do something?

You are able to just buy the fabric, this has ended now but it gives you an idea of whats available.
