Dear All

Not sure where to go now. Have tried everything to stop the roof rattle when its stowed and still the annoying rattle rattles on !!!!!!

1)- removed metal catch in roof latch

2) removed springs from centre console

3) covered catch in soft sponge covered in tape

and still i have the rattle. Did i see somewhere that you can move the roof forward by un- doing some screws?? has anyone got a link please??

Help appreciated muchly

thanks

I added some felt tape to the two areas on the lever, bent the springs a little so they exerted more force on the lever, and reinstalled everything.

I have the panel off now - but unsure exactly where to apply felt as I can't see how the noise is being made. Should it go on the top lever that depresses (between this plastic lever and the main plastic piece)?

X2

Before you doing the taping take the car for a drive while the panel is off - to confirm this is the culprit

Surely if the panel is off then you wouldn't get the squeak anyway.. :?

But I thought the problem was that the squeak hadn't been pinpointed - or is this a different car to the first post? -confused-
