Roof problem

Hi, When I use the key to open the roof sometimes it does not open, at other times ( most times ) it will only partly open. Otherwise when I use the controls inside to open/close it, it works perfectly. It never used to happen, what could be the cause? How could I remedy this?
Your thoughts as always will be greatly appreciated.

Mine does this too; it usually refused to operate off the key after I haven’t used the car for a while. I’ve also had the windows drop but then refuse to go back up until after 10-15 mins of driving. Not sure on the cause tbh.

The ignition key has a battery that’s recharged when driving, if it’s low from lack of regular use it could cause this.
A gaptec module would let you operate the roof without keeping the buttons depressed for the duration & give one touch operation from the dash buttons as well :thumbsup:

Or it could be the car battery itself as mentioned above, measure the battery voltage after the cars been sitting for a few days :?

Brand spanking new Varta battery, fully charged. I will have to try opening the roof standing near the drivers side to see if thats the problem.
This was mentioned on a thread. So........ at what distance does the roof operate from? If you need to be standing near the drivers side then I see this to be rather negative, whats the use! I would have thought that at least within 10- 15 metres would have been ideal.
 
I would think the roof operation signal distance would be the same as the trunk latch or door locks, no?

Difference being to unlock doors/boot only requires a momentary signal but the roof operation needs 10seconds of constant output, there’s more chance of it dropping away at the outer limits of its range :?
