Roof problem - orange light

Took the hardtop off today and then raised the soft top, no issue's.

Went to put it back down again and I was met with this solid orange light:



I then removed the Gaptech and crappy scotchlock connectors, but still no joy.

A quick search brings up the microswitch for the shelf being the fault, so I took a quick pic. Can anyone tell me if this looks broken or not? How would I know?



Thats with the shelf up, obviously. I did put the shelf up and down a few times and still, no luck.

It's definitely not the shelf in the up position, before anyone says that :lol:

Hi,

Looks like the little metal leg that strikes the micro switch is missing... have a look for it in the boot or take the switch out and press the micro switch in and try the roof again this will confirm if it's at fault or not !

Oh ok, cheers mate. I've had a lot of stuff in the boot for the last few days so perhaps something caught it?

Will have to have a look around.

Thanks for your help fixit man. The metal hook bit had got stuck on top of the parcel shelf, somehow. Managed to work it loose, then removed the switch and surround, rebuilt it and it works fine now! Really appreciate your advice mate.

That's what I was worried about :lol: Saw the orange light and just thought ''oh God, my credit card is going to get ruined'' :lol:

Even removed my Gaptech as I thought that was the cause. Now I need to re-install it

If your motor/pump is in the original location you might consider relocating it to the boot to guard against it getting drowned when the cavity fills up with water, or check the drain frequently if you dont fancy moving it. Drain is found just in front of rear wheel, you can look up under the sill, picture shows rubber one way valve over the end of the drain with the rear arch liner removed, probably prudent to pull it off and rod the drain to check its clear and leave the rubber off.
