Roof operation

On my 2003 Z4, the roof will no longer operate by inserting the key in the door and turning it as required. It had been working perfectly. Also, a problem that is probably related is that the door will no longer unlock using the key FOB. It will lock with no problem, but will not unlock. Has anyone had this problem? If so, what is involved in the repair? Thanks.

Do you have the original battery in the car (or even a replacement battery that's now got a few years on it)? Odd electrical problems can be caused by a failing battery - it might start the car just fine, but be down just enough to start causing problems with the car's electrical systems. Seems to be a fairly common problem with the Z4.
