Roof Motor Replacement

What's the best place to source a new roof motor & pump?

The pump body has failed on mine but I can't find any pumps on there own.

cheers

Whereabouts are you based OP?

There are a few people on here who can often revive roof motors, and also relocate them into the boot so they don't get wet!

Roofmotors.co.uk offer a pump rebuild service for £65 inc. warranty and return postage. I recently had mine done by them but still have the issue I had before the rebuild, suggesting that my problem lies outside of the work they did. I'm not really recommending them or warning you off them, just suggesting that it might be worth talking to them.

+1 for Mr Tidy's post.

A few of the forum members can bring your pump back from the dead and move it out of the water into the boot. Gives us an idea of where you are and we can point you towards them. BMW is way past £1K by all accounts - members cover their costs at less than a good night out!

Thanks for that

I'm in the midlands. The motor & pump are already in the boot which is why it's been quite straightforward for me get at it to take it apart & work out what the problem is.

The motor part is fine, showing wear as its 13 years old but still functioning.

The pump part is the problem. It can open the roof but not close it so the fluid must be getting past a seal.

Thanks

Do you know of anyone in the Buckinghamshire area for this mate? I'm quite happy operating the roof manually but it would be a great perk to have the motor working!

The nearest to you is going to be "bowser134" in that case. He's in Hampshire (Yateley I think).
