Roof motor questions

Hi all,

My roof decided to stop working and finally got round to removing the hood to check the motor out. Everything looked ok and there was no water in the motor side until I opened the cover..


Although there was water blocked in the passenger side

Once it had dried out, I connected the motor to a battery and to my surprise it actually span but didn't lift the hood. My question is should it lift the hood or is there something I need to do ie short some pins out to mimic the switch etc..

I've bled the system now and quite abit of air came out BUT the roof now works :lol:

Nice lindstrom cutters jake, work in telecoms perchance? I would have though that if air had got into the system then there must be a leak somewhere?

You would think so but can't see evidence of a leak and the fluid level is as it should be. I'll have to have a better look tomorrow.

I used to work in electronics, mainly soldering, wiring looms etc.. They were a leaving present, very good cutters.
