Roof motor issue!!

I have done a search and it almost seems my roof motor has given up the ghost. I have had no probs with it previous, roof gone down and back up smoothly and quickly.
Today the roof opened ok but later when I closed it, it came up fine then suddenly stopped 1 inch off locking. the red light started flashing.
I finished closing the roof and locked it manually. I have tried to open with the button but there is nothing, no motor noise and the red light is still flashing. (still flashes every time I turn ignition on. Is this the case till the motor is replaced?
I have checked the fuses and they are all ok.

Now I would have thought even if the motor has packed up, the windows should still drop half way.

Also does anyone know a reasonable replacement place in the Notts area?

Did you check the micro switch in the boot?

Checked that and it clicks so I presume that's ok.

Should the red flashing light on the roof buttons stop flashing now the roof is closed? It automatically starts flashing when I turn the ignition on, surely it shouldn't come on till I try to open the roof with the button.

It just means that it does not think it has closed completely, which to me sounds that the switch might still not be right.

If you have to have it replaced,Autotech in Telford are very familiar with changing roof motors.
They changed mine this summer £640,it took about 5hrs to do.

If it's the motor you can save a bunch of money doing it yourself. I got a quote of $2000. I did it in about 6 hours for the cost of the motor $425. Directions are on the forum.
