Roof manual operation

My roof motor is dead and I am too tight to do anything about it until the spring.

Meanwhile, is it possible, or advisable, to take the roof down manually if the opportunity arises ? Or is this not intended and could cause even more damage ?

If you have a look through the manual it tells you how to override it and do it manually.
There's also a how-to by Shipkiller.

I believe the manual overide is only an emergency measure if it stops mid cycle.

I'd therefore leave it alone as you'll put a lot of stresses on the alloy frame as you mess about trying to lift it up and down and force it into the open and closed locking positions. A chance you'll damage the frame and that's an expensive item.
