Roof issues

Hi guys

I have an 04 3.0

I went to put my roof down today and the electric motor isn’t doing anything.

An amber flashes on the bottom light of the roof button and then does nothing

The motor has been re located to the boot by the previous owner. On visual inspection everything seems fine and plugged in. No noise coming from motor when pressed

Not tried replacing by a fuse as only discovered today.

Let me know if anyone has any advice re common things to try to fix on these

Thanks

Amber light means the parcel shelf is in the raised position. If you check and it's down then it's an issue with the microswitch.

[ref]danielr637[/ref], I see you are adding more questions re. lights etc.
Did you get this roof issue sorted?

Thank you for this both. Just checked it this morning, unfortunately must be the microswtich. Am I right that I need to take out the parcel shelf first before locating the microswitch? I put a big box in the boot the other day which just about fitted and I think it hit something internally in the boot which might knocked the lever off the microswitch so I'm hoping it will be just a case of re attaching it

Check the silver switch/armature is still in place in the recess where the shelf sits

Yes you need to get the parcel shelf out, then the microswitch housing simply unscrews.

Following from this post. I would like to add that the two rear dampers were replaced on all 4 corners. Could this be linked to the micro switch breaking off? If so on good terms with the garage and sure they would sort it out for me if they realise they’ve knocked it accidentally

The parcel shelf has been removed to fit the rear shocks. Is your car a facelift? Some of the later Zeds came with an L-shaped hook on the parcel shelf in the middle and its easier to damage the switch for the roof when removing it. The hook in the middle needs to slide all the way top the top and out before removing the shelf and the reverse for fitting it. The little metal arm on the switch is likely bent. It can be carefully straightened and will hopefully be functional again.
