Roof issues..

Hiya,

So I have replaced my battery (which was showing 15% health) with a new one today, hoping it would solve my roof issues. But it hasn't. I coded it using BimmerLink.

So, the roof will open fully, but the windows will not come up.

Closing the front part of the roof locks, but the rear section does not move at all.

The windows won't work even when the roof is fully down. It seems like everything is out of sync with each other.

The windows stay down and do not move from the switches.
The only way to get them back up is by holding the lock button on the key fob.

Scanning for faults, all I get is A670, the fogging sensor.

I had a look at the wiring on the joins in the roof, but there are no obvious signs of breakage.

So, I'm guessing it's going to be a faulty microswitch. Which one is likely to be the issue here?

Any message on the iDrive screen? How about the top up and down buttons anything flashing?

Since you have Bimmerlink, can you go into the CTM module and Check the states of the hall sensors and microswitches?

Seems like it doesn't know status of boot lid.
Could be a micro switch not being operated as opposed to faulty, as all sensors are monitored for continuity.
I had a plug pull apart and all stopped with boot in trunk and boot lid open.

Open so that boot lid lifts and stop.
Righthand side there is a ram. Look under you should see as picture above.
The black connector with blue marker paint had pulled slightly out.
It had no barb to lock it in.
So i pushed it in and super glued it, no problem since.
It connects to the Hall sensor jut below the ram.

Worth a look.

On bimmerlink it does not give me the option to do things like that or i havent found out how to yet.

And no idrive screeen sadley. The roof down button does constantly flash red.

Flash red means cycle not complete.
Also seen with broken wire.
