Hi all

The roof on the car is not working- known when bought and I intend to get into the motor and pull it apart to sort

However- when the red thing is pulled in the boot to disengage, to allow manual operation, the hood will still not retract- its like there is a fluid lock?

Any ideas or previous experience of this happening?

TIA

Is the hood unlatching at the windscreen? If it is & it still won’t move it sounds as though the bypass valve has seized.

yeah unlatches fine- can move it back approx 6 inches then no more

where is the value? Can it be shifted?

Yes, bypass valve stuck for sure. It’s a brass plunger on the pump activated by a bowden cable. You will need to pull the pump to get to it anyway.

Durham Dave is your nearest roof guy i think, he can remove the motor & relocate it to the boot for a good price
