Roof drainage clean required, or normal??

Hi there, having just washed the wife's new car....followed 'just' after having dried it by the mother of all downpours :headbang: I noticed that water was sitting to the rear of the roof.

Our previous convertibles seemed to drain more readily from this area; both having treated the roof last weekend I don't know if its the waterproofing & tight fit against the plastic edge 'holding' the water there vs other roofs which have all been fairly loose there.

Poor photo below, frankly wasn't keen on getting more wet taking a better one with my decent camera.

Thoughts appreciated - car is an Z4R 07 plate if relevant in any way

Is the car on level ground, if the front pointing up then it will collect.

But easy way to check is by lowering the roof, if it's blocked you will be able to see the water if it's stopping it from draining as above.
 
Are you talking about a few mm of water sat on the edge of the roof in the lip between the material and rubber? If so I don't think that has anything to do with the infamous blocked drains issue but is just the way the roof is sitting and I can’t see it’s a problem. Mine does it although the drains are well and truly clear, particularly with the front uphill on my drive as the run-off is at the front of the bottom rubber (top right in your pic).

It's always worth checking the drains anyway though.

What a muppet - yes the car is on a slope, so not able to drain through the holes!

Cheers guys, will check the drainage anyway when I'm next outside.
