Roof down with key - sometimes

My car has the factory option for roof down on the key, I've only used it a couple of times but thought it was a little tempermental however last night it didn't want to work at all. Using the drivers door lock instead was fine, is it a weak battery in the fob or could it be a problem with key ?

having to press and hold the key always gives dodgy results. you would be better off buying a module for around £45 where you just press the button three times, the other benefit is they will also close the roof and windows with three presses also.

there was a group buy on here if you look and you might be able to add yourself to the list still

Could be car battery not 100%, I've had that issue, or the key not properly charged, but as Srhutch says, holding the button down properly may be the issue.

If the key opens and closes the doors correctly without issue then I doubt it's anything to do with the key battery.
Try the spare key and if you get the same results then you've eliminated the key.

Frankly I'd go with issues in keeping a constant signal by pressing and holding (as stated above) I hav a press and hold that opens all my X5 windows and roof in sequence. Keeping it pressed and in line of sight can be challenging and sometimes needs 2 attempts.

3 blip based modules are way better
