‏Hi everyone , Recently after weather became a little colder when i start driving my car i get convertible top alert on dash and disappear immediately (roof close position) , i tried to scan it with x431 scan tool and got below codes:
‏“DTC A698 Rear-end Madule open during driving”
‏and
‏“DTC A69E speed in soft top intermediate position higher than permitted“

‏Anyone had similar errors?

Your roof is probably closed ok, it’s more than likely a microswitch or a broken wire that’s causing it to not be detected as such.
That’s giving you the speed warning as the car thinks the roof is still open.

I'm getting same last few days, any sharp bend and "Roof shell impaired".
Dropped the code reader on and get "hall Shell roof rear 2 impaired".
I think the cold weather has done something.
Just keeping and eye on it.

Kinger’s zed was doing the same thing & these microswitches needed replacing https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e89-z4-sdrive30i-roa/repair-manuals/54-slide-tilt-sunroof-soft-top/54-37-folding-roof/1VnY72z6aT

I was getting a selection of roof related messages last spring following little winter use. I didn’t solve it but they eventually went away and so far haven’t returned which leads me to think a) it’s an intermittent fault you could spend loads trying and failing to track down & solve and/or b) it’s related to when your battery is less than fully charged. If you’re confident the roof is properly closed can you live with a few bongs for a while to see if they go on their own like mine seem to have done?

I’m having same problems albeit I’ve replaced the battery. The roof operation has been faulty and as I speak the car is with a German car indi a friend uses so I’ll await the outcome.

I collected the car today after the indi investigation it was the sensor a692 . Expensive as it was very difficult to remove but a software update was also undertaken so hopefully it will continue to operate as the whole mechanism was checked and lubricated and the seals were treated.
I’m hoping that’s job done.
