hi , anyone fitted the RE tranny mounts and short shift kit in z4m coupe if so how do you find it ; does the clunky shifting improve ?
 
I have the RE transmission mounts (along with the shorter ZHP weighted shift knob) on for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. Very little increased in Noise Vibration Harshness (if any at all) but with a much improved feel. It won't improve the clunky shifting as I believed that will only improved with your timings (I'm assuming that you're referring to the "clunk" or "notch" of 1st to 2nd shift). I found that it's less "clunky" if you shift above 4k rpm. Below that, it's very difficult to properly time it to avoid the "clunk".
 
thanks for advice xmetal, going to go ahead and get those ordered, think you are right about getting more practised with the shifting, its just that i have spent soooo much time polishing the coupe and it is looking soooo good i am waiting for some dry weather before going for a blast ! cheers.
 
Rogue has done a lot of work on the MINI Cooper and has been received very well. I had a MINI S and loved the upgraded pulley. Cannot say that I have ever run across a bad review of their products aside from the people expecting outrageous gains :wink:
 
Have the Rogue Engineering transmission mounts and a UUC Evo3 short shift kit. Like them both. The SSK improved the shifting experience noticeably but not a complete transformation so it might not be worth the $$ for some. The mounts i installed because on very very quick 1st->2nd gear shifts it would grind and miss the gear. It was reported on Zpost that the stiffer mounts practically cure this, they do not. Not for me anyway. They improve it a bit but not completely eliminate it. It still does it occasionally, the only actual solution is to wait just a tenth of a second more before slamming home 2nd gear...
