Roadster without garage

some of you are borderline insane imo

i can only imagine the state you'd get yourselves into if a seagull decided to drop it's gut's on your car whilst driving.

i have a garage but i don't put the z4 in there purely because it's too much faffing about everytime i need to drive it (everyday).

That's where I keep mine and so far so good - I too am considering a half cover though to try to avoid ingress of water into the roof motor - we shall see.

No garage for mine.Outside 24/7. AND it's black!!! Don't worry, they are fine.Mine enjoys a hardtop for 5 months of the year. :D

On this subject... While I was waiting for the guys to finish washing my car the other week they said about a hood service they offer at the beginning of winter. They get some company in that does some sort of wash where they put sonething on the hood, suck it off after a while and then reproof. Has anyone had this done before

Gannet kept his outside for years, no issues as far as I know, roof motor, hood all ok
I did indeed

5 years to be precise, only issue I had was the occasional greenishness round the bottom of the roof which easily came off once cleaned. I checked the drain holes once - proved to be all clear...

I'd say go for it :D

Get a £50 cover for it to use when the weather is really pants such as heavy frost, snow or when it's not getting used for a few days. Better still a hardtop for the winter.

But as said, if you keep the hood treated and clean it should be fine anyway.
