ROADSTER SIDE COVER COPIES

Iv'e just had a quick look at the two Youtube videos & they both look like good copies. As already noted the ones made by Skyer Motorsport have a fixed lugs, that could be an issue. He's selling them @ $297 which converts to £229.29. My intention is to sell them under £200 a set, depending on the finish.
I think that Stelvio came up with a good idea for the locking lug. But I don't understand why he felt the need to show a fancy CAD diagram, because he says they are the same design as BMW's. I would assume that BMW did all the aerodynamic research when they manufactured them in the first place.
I do intend to try & make them look as close as possible to the genuine item. I also want to make custom sets on request such as a Carbon Fibre finish or dashboard fabric in a variety of finishes.
This morning I traveled up to Newcastle to collect my sheet of 3mm ABS sheet, & a piece of 30mm thick Acrylic block that will be used for my vacuum degassing chamber.
The sheet was larger than I thought so I had some fun trying to roll it into a tube to get in the back of my Jeep. The next time I need some I'll get it delivered. When I got home & took the off tape I was amazed how it sprang back to its original form. I had to jump backwards or it would of whacked me in the face
The guys at Bay Plastics Stock a wide variety plastics & they where really interested in my project
At least the sheet is big enough, because I think it will take a few attempts to get the Vacuum forming right.
I'll post updates over the weekend.
